How do I make a substance that looks like Peach Jelly?

I’m the Props Master for a show at my university and I’m trying to put together a mixture that can be identified by the eye (and actor suggestion) as a jar of pickled peaches (just a jelly-like substance with pieces of peach suspended in it). Does anyone know a recipe for making such a jelly-like substance that can be color…and viscous enough to suspend anything that may be floating in it? I’d deeply appreciate this.

Cornstarch, hot water and food coloring. Read the directions of the cornstarch to make the amount of “jelly” you need, the more cornstarch you use the thicker the substance will be. To add the suspended peaches in it, you can use cubes of foam. From about 3 feet and further it should look real enough. The benefit of using cornstarch is that the solution will be clear as in real jelly.
