Leading off with the single "It's a Business Doing Pleasure with You," the 14-time Academy of Country Music Award winner wasn't just topping the country music charts this year with his Southern Voice hits but he also has a few box office hits. The country star-turned-actor recently starred beside Sandra Bullock in her Academy Award-winning role in The Blind Side, playing the husband who takes in a homeless football player who later goes on to become a star. The story is just one of many roles that McGraw has taken since first started to act in a decade ago (he first starred alongside Jeff Foxworthy in the comedian's show). Many of his roles have earned him both commercial and critical praise.

It's truly his Southern voice that first earned McGraw the attention 16 years ago when he led off with the controversial single "Indian Outlaw." With the release of Southern Voice, the first new studio set from McGraw in two years and his 10th collaboration with producer Byron Gallimore, McGraw has once again shown the world exactly why he is country's music's leading man. Poised to take over Garth Brooks' role in the early '90s, McGraw hasn't dropped the ball since premiering in 1993, earning three Grammy Awards, 30 number one singles and selling 40 million albums.

McGraw was formerly a baseball player born to Philadelphia Phillies star relief pitcher Tug McGraw. The Delhi, La. native initially took to his father's sport before he found musical success in Nashville. Though he went to Northeast Louisiana University for a baseball scholarship, it was music that ignited a passion in McGraw and he dropped out of school to pursue guitar lessons. After performing for only a few years in local bars and concert halls, McGraw signed to Curb Records and released his debut album.

With Southern Voice, the family man has established his growth in the years since singing 1994's breakthrough hit "Indian Outlaw." "As an artist, you just put your antennae up, and you find and record whatever you're drawn to," he says on his website. "Of course, everything in your life factors into what you choose. So you might not notice any theme as you're making an album, but once it's done, then you look back and get a better picture of where you were as a person at the time."
