questions about righty or lefty guitar?
im a lefty and ive been told to learn guitar on a regular guitar because of the fretboard advantage...but if i learned on the lefty i would be able to strum faster because i can strum faster with my left hand..so if i learned on a lefty with my dominant hand strumming, wouldnt i be learning it like a righty would with their dominant hand strumming..or should i trade in faster strumming for easier fretting with a righty...is there anyone out there who is a lefty and learned on a righty guitar even though they strum faster with their left hand??if so....did your strumming develop and allow you to strum faster songs..and how long will it take to develop your right hand for faster strumming????
I am a Left-T but learned right-handed. Why ? Beucase, your dominant hand is the hand that you want to use to ret the fingerboard, not the slow , weak hand. When I play, I can pick 5 notes with the pick and produce 30 notes with those 5-stroke. I work my left hand with pull-offs and hammer-ons which helps to produce more notes per stroke.
Just a thought. You're the boss dude. Notice that all GOOD guitar players work their left hand much mpore than the picking hand. You sometimes see the guitarist doing one pick stroke and get 4 notes out of it and giving the impression that each note were picked.
